ESPA College – Proposed use of Covid Recovery Funding for Academic Year 2021-22
Since returning to College following lockdown, it has been very evident that many of our students have struggled to adapt to a busy and demanding life in specialist education again.
Some learners have struggled with:
- Attendance
- Confidence
- Anxiety
- Eating & Sleeping well
- Exercise and healthy living
- Friendships and Relationships
- Employability Activities
- Travel Training & using transport
- Sensory overload and sensory complexities
- Time Management
- Study skills
We hope to use our Recovery Fund in a range of College and community based activities that will encourage re-engagement and foster confidence and self-belief. Areas we are currently looking at include Specialist tutor inputs, the Development of a Sensory & Friendship Garden, Individual Enrichment Activities, and Community visits alongside attendance at sporting or entertainment events and social evenings.
We hope that this plan will lead to a more motivated, enriched student group who are happy and ready to fully engage in College life again.
