7 The Cedars is a large beautiful spacious home for six people set in a quiet residential area of Ashbrooke in Sunderland. It has a very warm and friendly atmosphere and is situated close to a wide range of local amenities which enable people to feel part of their community. The city centre is also only a short walk away.
The staff team are passionate about the people they support and execute their duties with care and empathy. Everyone living here is recognised for their own unique qualities and personality and staff make every effort to ensure that each day is happy, fun, safe, and stimulating. The people living here all have autism and additional learning and behavioural difficulties. Therefore the service offers intensive specialist support 24-hours-a-day.
Within the extensive grounds is an adapted Coach House which has been designed and developed to offer a specialist service for one individual. A log cabin has also been built in the garden for another person who needs and enjoys their personal private space.
Our vocational day service The Croft Centre is in the same street where people can enjoy a wide variety of social, leisure and recreational activities based on their interests. Being fit and healthy is important for everyone and people are supported to enjoy a range of healthy activities including keep fit and aqua fit session, attending bike riding clubs, hydrotherapy pools and lovely walks in the neighbouring park or further afield.
The home is registered with the Care Quality Commission and consistently receives outstanding reports.
