ESPA College, Tithebarn caters for autistic young people between the ages of 16-25, who are generally working towards qualifications from Entry level 3 to Level 2.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible and hardworking individual to join the teaching team at Tithebarn. The ideal candidate will have experience of working with autistic learners with additional needs in education. The successful candidate would require a PGCE/Cert Ed, or equivalent Level 5 teaching qualification and some experience in delivery literacy-based sessions.
The role includes:
- Developing and delivering individualised learning programmes for autistic people following baseline and diagnostic assessments.
- Conducting formative and summative assessments, planning and coordinating Functional Skills exams when necessary.
- Producing consistently high-quality teaching paperwork.
- Planning sessions, differentiating learning materials and activities that meet the individual needs of learners.
- Working closely with learning support assistants to deliver outstanding sessions.
- Gathering evidence for accredited qualifications and RARPA portfolios.
- Implementing thorough risk assessments that ensure all activities are carried out safely.
- Ensuring that every student is making progress towards achieving their Education, Health and Care plan targets.
- Collaborating with external professionals and contributing to student reviews.
- Working with some learners who can present challenging behaviour
- Creating a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment.
